Football Netting: What Size Do You Need?
Choosing the right football netting starts with accurate measurements. Whether you are replacing an old goal net or ordering a bespoke one, the frame size must be correct. This helps the net fit well and work as intended.
How Do You Measure a Football Goal Net?
Always measure the goal frame rather than the existing net. Over time, nets can stretch, so they may no longer give an accurate size.
For the best fit, record the following measurements:
- Goal width
- Goal height
- Top depth, also known as the roof runback
- Bottom depth, also known as the ground runback
These measurements help your supplier make a net that fits securely.
Why Do Accurate Measurements Matter?
Correct measurements can help prevent delays, poor fitting and extra costs.
They also help provide:
- A secure fit
- The right level of tension
- Easier installation
- A neat appearance
- Better long-term performance
If your goal has an unusual shape or a custom-built frame, accurate measurements are even more important.
Standard or Bespoke Goal Nets?
Many football goals use standard-sized nets. However, schools, sports clubs, training grounds and leisure centres may need a made-to-measure option.
A bespoke net is often the best choice for unusual goal sizes or frame designs. It can provide a better fit and a more professional finish.
At Renco Nets, we make custom sports nets for football goals, cricket cages, golf enclosures and multi-sport facilities. Our products are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Netting Options from Renco Nets
We manufacture made-to-order goal nets in a choice of materials.
Knotted polyethylene is a strong and durable option for busy sports facilities. Knotless polypropylene offers a smoother finish and may suit other applications.
We also offer a choice of colours, including black, white, blue, red, yellow and green.
Whether you need a replacement goal net or a completely bespoke sports net, we can make it to your exact measurements.
Looking for Bespoke Football Netting?
Renco Nets supplies goal nets to schools, sports clubs, leisure centres and commercial facilities across the UK.
When requesting a quote, send us your measurements and a clear photograph of the goal frame. Our team can then recommend the most suitable material and make the net to your specification.
